Wolves Look To Tap Into Emerging Market

As if to answer fans questions regarding the clubs attempts ro bring in new blood, CEO Jez Moxey has spoken out on Wolves search for new talent.

Last year, ten new countries joined the EU, with the knock on effect that their footballing talent now no longer needs a work permit to play in England. Something that Jez Moxey took note of, and he sees the Eastern European market as one Wolves could exploit to their benefit.

Up until now, relatively few Polish players have succeeded in England, but then again, very few have made the journey. Liverpool's Jerzy Dudek, Derby's Grzegorz Rasiak and Southampton's Kamil Kowkowski and in Scotland Celtic's Artur Boruc and Maciej Zurawski are so far the only players to make any real impact.

Wolves are working with a number of different agents to plunder the emerging market, and have already been linked with Lech Poznan striker Krzysztof Gajtkowski.

Talks of a transfer are quite a way off though, and he is certainly not the only player being scrutinised. Agents are checking out a number of options, and Moxey believes that this is an avenue well worth exploiting.

"The country's status has changed because of it joining the European Union and that takes away some of the red tape that was involved with work permits.

"It's a whole new market for players that is opening up and it's one that we're paying close attention to."
