Cort scores in reserve comeback

WOLVES Striker Carl Cort scored a goal in his comeback game for the Reserves against Newcastle United tonight. The reserves however still failed to win with the home side hitting back twice.

Carl Cort was on red hot form earlier in the season, scoring 9 times in the 14 games he played in, including a neat hat trick against QPR at Molineux during a 3-0 win towards the beginning of the season.

However following the home game against Derby County back in October Carl Cort had to have minor knee surgery to remove debris from his knee.

Since his injury Wolves have failed to score goals and Glenn Hoddle will be delighted the £2M signing from Newcastle scored during a 45 minute run out against his own club.

Cort headed in a right wing cross to give Wolves the lead in just the fifth minute, but a goal either side of the break from Finnigan and Smylie earned the home side all three points.

MEANWHILE Wolves are hoping to extend the loan of Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone. The former Derby County youngster has impressed since arriving at Molineux and talks between Wolves and Tottenham are currently underway.
