Missed chance.

The points were shared at Millmoor as Cardiff City struggled to overcome one of the first divisions’ poorer teams, but they remain unbeaten and kept a clean sheet!

Cardiff City: Alexander, Weston, Vidmar, Gabbidon, Barker, Bonner, Boland, Kavanagh, Robinson, Campbell, Earnshaw.

Subs: Collins, Maxwell, Whalley, Bowen, Margetson.

Alan Lee was man of the match and had enough chances to have put the game beyond the Bluebirds. He showed why Lennie Lawrence has made enquiries about signing him.

Rotherham dominated the first half, and only a world class save in the 9th minute by Neil Alexander stopped them taking the lead. The high ball tactics by the Yorkshiremen were causing the City defence some problems but they adapted well and gradually found some form of their own, however Chris Barker missed an easy chance and Rob Earnshaw went close with a chipped shot.

Cardiff were stronger in the second half, but it was a game of few chances and as the game closed Rotherham became the better team again and defender Martin McIntosh saw his header wide of the post.

Jason Bowen replaced a tiring Earnie late in the second half, but this game had 0-0 written all over it by then.

Cardiff in the sweltering heat held out to gain a point and reward their noisy but well behaved travelled fans.
