Rhys Weston and Peter Thorne are both expected to be fit for City's first ever visit to the National Hockey Stadium in a fortnights time. City boss Lennie Lawrence will have to decide whether to put the duo straight back into the starting line-up for the game against bottom-placed Wimbledon.

Peter Thorne and Rhys Weston are both set to be available for selection for City's first ever visit to the National Hockey Stadium, where they will face Wimbledon on November 22nd.

Thorne's return means Gavin Gordon is likely to be relegated to the bench after five consecutive starts in the Cardiff City line-up. After impressive displays against Coventry City and West Ham United, Gordon has failed to make an impact in City's games against Watford, Burnley and Stoke City and City's record signing is expected to be named straight back in the starting XI.

Rhys Weston will face a far tougher battle to win back his starting place, following a series of good performances from Gary Croft. Burton-on-trent-born Croft has done very well since coming in for the Welsh international, who sustained a leg injury in the 0-0 away draw at Sunderland.

Meanwhile, left-footed midfielder Gareth Whalley is definitely out for the visit to Milton Keynes, and is not guaranteed to be fit for the visit of high flying West Bromwich Albion to Ninian Park three days later. Alan Lee will be out until at least Christmas, as he recovers from a cartilage operation.
