Former Cardiff City midfielder Layton Maxwell has joined arch-rivals Swansea City on trial. The ex-Liverpool player was released from his contract with the Bluebirds recently after failing to make the impact many had hoped since his arrival from Scouse land.
Layton Maxwell has turned to the dark side following his release from Cardiff City, and is currently on trial with Swansea City!
The overweight Scouse midfielder, who never was able to hold down a regular first-team place at Ninian Park, recently spent two-weeks on trial at Blackpool. Unfortunately for the former Liverpool man, things didn't work out and he now must try and impress with Cardiff's local rivals to earn him self a full-time contract.
"Layton's due to come and join us for a couple of weeks on Sunday," said Jacks boss Brian Flynn
"He hasn't played many games this season, so we need to have a look at his fitness."
Swansea are aiming for promotion this season, but a lack of players in the first-team squad could prove their downfall.
I'd usually wish an ex-Bluebird good luck when joining a new club, but as it's Swansea..!!
