Paul Parry was highly-rated in the Conference, and many believed he was the best player in the non-league. Our good friends at HU-FC.co.uk give us their thoughts on the left winger, who has made the huge jump up three divisions. Can he hack it?

| Hereford United supporters think highly
of City's new signing Paul Parry, and were obviously disappointed to see him
go. Many followers of the Bulls believe the left winger will be able to hack
it in Division One after a series of phenomenal non-league outings. Are friends at HU-FC.co.uk had the following to say about the 23-year-old:
"Although I did think that a sale was unlikely
just yet, the fee seems reasonable and as you can see from our forum the
vast majority of supporters are wishing him well. Our manager has said
that if a player gets an offer to move to a higher club, he would not

"But we will have a job to replace him. Good
left-sided players are hard to come-by.
"We have a FA Trophy match on Saturday which to be
honest we may lose but the most important matter this season is trying to
get promotion and with a small squad,(even smaller without Parry) this
will not be easy. And there is no-one in our squad who will fit into
Parry's place easily.
"However Turner our manager should have had enough warning that Parry might be transferred so could have another player under wraps. Turner seldom says much until a deal is done. "Look after him and give him time to blend in." Player Profile of Paul Parry from HU-FC: Paul signed a professional contract in 1998 after a successful YTS period at the club, and played his first game in 1998/99, coming on as a substitute in the 3-2 defeat away at Leek Town in November. His performances in 1999 earned him much praise, and against Leicester City in the FA Cup he raised a few eyebrows, hitting the post when one-on-one with former England goalkeeper Tim Flowers in the first match at Edgar Street. However, the 2000/01 season was an awful campaign for the youngster. Various injuries limited his appearances to eighteen and he netted just one goal during the campaign. Paul was back to his best, though, in 2001/02, when he tormented opposing defences with his huge skill, and was even quoted by Dagenham & Redbridge boss Garry Hill as the best player in the Conference. In May 2002, after signing a new contract, Paul was a crucial part of the Wales semi-professional team which collected the first Unibond Four Nations tournament title, as they beat Scotland and Eire, and drew with England.
