thinks his side were robbed of a place in the FAW Premier Cup semi-finals,
after the Exiles had a cast-iron penalty claim rejected. James Collins brought down Newport's John Phillips and the spot-kick looked certain to be given, but the referee surprised everyone by waving play-on. However, despite the decision, Nicholas is proud of the way his players performed. "It was a blatant penalty," he said. "I think everyone in the ground thought so. "I was watching the match alongside on-the night Cardiff-boss Paul Wilkinson in the stand and he said he couldn't believe the referee hadn't given it. "I thought it was a poor refereeing performance." |
