Cardiff City youngster Stuart Fleetwood has put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract, capping off a tremendous week for the forward.

The 17-year-old netted the winning goal in City's FAW Premier Cup quarter-final tie away at Newport County earlier in the week as a substitute and is now on professional terms at Ninian Park.

The highly-rated Fleetwood was given squad number 25 at the start of the season, and has made three appearances as a substitute for the Bluebirds this season, and despite having five strikers ahead of him in the Cardiff City pecking order, the pacey attacker will be hoping for more chances in the City first-team before the season is out.

Fleetwood has progressed extremely well this season with a number of pleasing performance in the reserve team, and the club are confident that he will be able to establish himself as a First Division striker in future years.
