City duo Alan Lee and Graham Kavanagh have both been called-up to the Republic of Ireland squad for their glamour friendly international against world champions Brazil. After a nightmare season of injuries for Alan Lee, the call up from Brian Kerr will be a huge confidence boost for the forward.

against Brazil.
Lee has had a nightmare season with only one Cardiff City goal to his name since his £850,000 move from Milmoor, but the call-up for his country is likely to come as a huge morale boost to the former Rotherham target-man. Kavanagh was in action in Ireland's last international friendly against Canada, but hardly had the luck of Irish, limping off after only 8 minutes after a nasty clash with Queens Park Rangers player Marc Bircham. The likelihood is neither player will start the game, but with the large number of substitutions that tend to be made in international friendlies, both players will be hoping for some time on the pitch against the World Champions. Ronaldo and company visit Lansdowne Road on February 18th, in a game designed to keep the interest in national football in Ireland after the Brian Kerr's side failed to qualify for the European Championships' to be held in Portugal later this year.
