An incredibly strong Cardiff City reserve line-up, including 10 players who regularly feature in the first-team, took another step towards the Wales and West England Pontins Combination reserve title with a 2-0 victory over Cheltenham Town. Andy Campbell and Alan Lee were on target for the hosts.

| Cardiff City took another step towards
the Wales and West England Pontins Combination reserve title with a 2-0
victory over Cheltenham Town at Ninian Park. The Bluebirds named an extremely strong side for the match against the Robins, which included three players with international caps to their name, and other players who have had a number of appearances for the first-team this season. Players included were all players who did not start the league game against Sunderland on Saturday, but all substitutes were included, and I get the impression this team was perhaps so strong with eye to the possibility of the regional reserve league title heading to Ninian Park. Andy Campbell and Alan Lee, who made and finished Cardiff City's fourth goal against the Black Cats, were on the scoresheet for the hosts as the Bluebirds cruised to three points in front of the token small reserve team crowd. Cardiff City Line-Up: Neil Alexander, Byron Anthony, James Collins, Gary Croft, Spencer Prior, Jason Bowen, Mark Bonner, Gareth Whalley, John Robinson, Alan Lee, Andrew Campbell. |
