Cardiff City have signed York City's Lee Bullock on loan until the end of the season. The 22-year-old midfielder has an impressive trial spell at Ninian Park earlier in the campaign, and has now joined the Bluebirds until the end of the season with an eye to a permanent move from both clubs.

The 22-year-old spent a brief trial spell with the Bluebirds earlier in the season, with Lennie Lawrence unsure whether he was interested in pursuing a move for the youngster. Future scouting missions to Bootham Crescent have seen the City boss take Bullock on loan until the end of the campaign, and the two sides have agreed an initial fee for the players already should Cardiff want to sign the player permanently in May.

It is believed the club will fork out £75,000 on Bullock at the end of the season should he impress on his loan spell, the same fee paid for Hereford United's Paul Parry, who already has one international cap for Mark Hughes' Wales to his name since making the move to the Welsh capital. There will probably be some stipulations to the fee, which could see it rise depending on Bullock's appearances in the blue jersey. York seem safe from relegation, but the club has some well-publicised financial problems which saw them come close to going out of business, so the money will be welcome relief to the North England outfit.

Bullock seems pleased he has made the move, and is eager to prove himself to City boss Lennie Lawrence that he is worthy of a place full-time in the Cardiff squad.

"I'm glad things have been sorted out and I am finally joining Cardiff," said Bullock.

"I have ten weeks to prove my worth and if I do that, then I will also make some money for York."

The deal was agreed earlier in the week, and Bullock played what could be his last game for the ?'s on Tuesday night with the Third Division side entertaining Scunthorpe United at Bootham Crescent. Unfortunately for Bullock, should it be his farewell to York City supporters, it will not be one he remembers fondly as the hosts were hammered 3-1 by Scunthorpe United despite the visitors having 10-men for a large portion of the game.

The Stockton-born player, who has more of an attacking mind to his game, has made almost 200 appearances for York City, and is not shy of goals with 27 league and major cup goals to his name.
