Seven Cardiff City players have been called up on international duty for upcoming international friendlies. Alan Lee is the latest Bluebird to be named in his country's squad, with the forward set to join up with the Republic of Ireland squad next week.

Alan Lee is the latest Bluebird to be called upon for international duty, with the Cardiff City forward named in the Republic of Ireland squad that will face the Czech Republic at Lansdowne Road on March 31st. Graham Kavanagh is not included in the squad because of injury, with the City skipper ruled out of action until the end of the current season.

Lee joins a quartet of Welsh players on international duty, with Martyn Margetson, Paul Parry, Daniel Gabbidon and Robert Earnshaw called up by Mark Hughes for the friendly match against Hungary. City 'keeper Margetson has the opportunity for his first cap in the Welsh shirt, after representing the nation at all other levels, and Paul Parry will be looking to build on the time he played as a substitute during the 'Battle of Britain' against Scotland.

Speaking of Scotland there was no call from Bertie Vogts for Neil Alexander. The former Livingston shot-stopper, who is still uncapped by the Jocks, hasn't been named in their squad for the friendly against Romania at Hampden Park due to him not having played in a City shirt since the 3-1 home defeat against Millwall. Heart of Midlothian's goalkeeper Craig Gordon takes his place.

Richard Langley has been named in the Jamaica squad for their friendly against Honduras in Kingston, perhaps he can meet up with the cricket boys while he is out there! Tony Vidmar will also be on international duty, representing Australia who face South Africa.
