City Duo in International Action

Two Cardiff City players have been on international duty during the week. Alan Lee and Richard Langley both started for the Republic of Ireland and Jamaica respectively, with both players enjoying an hour of action.

Alan Lee started and played the first hour of the Republic of Ireland's dour goalless stalemate in Poland on Wednesday evening.

The game was a typical international friendly, and with several Irish players pulling out as the game drew closer, the result was never going to be a major factor either. However, the number of stars who withdrew from the squad allowed City forward Lee to start the game and he got a good hour under his belt to secure another international cap.

Meanwhile, Richard Langley was also in international action and also played the first hour for his country, as Jamaica beat Venezuela 2-1 in Kingston. The Reggae Boyz have shown improvements recently and are currently unbeaten in three games, with their lass loss a narrow defeat at the hands of World Champions Brazil.

The Bluebirds duo have both faced long trips for their respective countries and therefore could well be rested for the visit of Wimbledon to Ninian Park this Saturday. With two goals in his last two appearances, the on-form Andrew Campbell looks set to start alongside Robert Earnshaw, with a midfield quartet likely to be made up of Paul Parry, John Robinson, on-loan Lee Bullock and Willie Boland.
