Steve Allen Becomes New Physiotherapist

Cardiff City have secured the services of Steve Allen as club physiotherapist for the 2004/2005 season. He joins from Crystal Palace, meaning Clive Goodyear's club at the club will now be more fitness-based.

With the signings of Robert Page and Tony Warner dominating the headlines, the coup of a new physiotherapist is not one that will really excite supporters. However, in Steve Allen the club have persuaded a well-respected physio to come to South Wales despite his club, Crystal Palace, just being promoted to the Premier League.

Allen will take over first-team duties at the club, whilst Clive Goodyear will now concentrate on fitness. Former manager Jimmy Goodfellow, who operated as a physio and more recently an assistant physio, will still play some capacity in the health of players at the club.

Graham Kavanagh is expected to be one of the first to visit the new physiotherapist, with the City skipper thought to be suffering from a leg injury. Several reports have suggested that he will miss the pre-season and is a doubt for the start of the First Division campaign in August.
