Bluebirds duo Graham Kavanagh and Alan Lee have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Switzerland. Brian Kerr's side face a tough trip to Basle after entertaining the Cypriots at Lansdowne Road.
Alan Lee and Graham Kavanagh have been included in the Republic of Ireland squad for the two opening World Cup qualification matches. The duo will be hopeful to play some part in the winnable games against Cyprus in Dublin and Switzerland in Basle.
The Irish missed out on a place in the European Championships after a dissapointing qualification campaign, but will hope to make the World Cup finals in Germany and have been boosted by the return of Roy Keane to the international fold. France, Israel and the Faroe Islands are also in Ireland's groups, with bookmakers predicting Brian Kerr's side to be battling it out with the Swiss for a play-off spot.
