Ticket Reductions for Preston Clash

Under-16's will be able to watch Cardiff City's Football League game with Preston North End on Friday for only a fiver. The offer applies to both areas of the Bob Bank and the Canton Stand, with the game against the Lancastrian outfit being shown live on Sky television.

Sam Hammam's "Bigger than Barcelona" tag has generated hundreds of piss takes from the Jacks, but it hasn't resulted in attendances at Ninian Park even closely resembling the tens of thousands that pack the Nou Camp to watch the Catalan giants in Spain.

Plans to build 60,000 all-seater stadiums are all well and good, but the Bluebirds have been averaging just over 13,000 in the Football League with crowds dwindling. So with Sky cameras at the Preston game on Friday hardly going to help the attendance, the club have rightly decided to slash the ludicrously high ticket prices for under-16's to a fiver - for the Canton Stand and a both the terracing and seating stands of the Bob Bank.

The offer is for juniors only and applies up until kick-off time. It follows pressure from supporters groups to lower ticket prices, with prices as high as £27 for adults in certain parts of the ground - paying that to watch Alan Lee fall on his backside!
