Bluebirds Throw Away Points at Brammal Lane

A game of two halves at Brammal Lane, with the Championship clash hinging on the dismissal of skipper Graham Kavanagh moments before the interval. Loan forward Neil Harris had given City the lead with his first goal for the club, but the Blades staged a second-half comeback to take the points.

If ever a game summed up Cardiff City's season it was this one. The Bluebirds were in total control and playing well for the majority of the first half. Neil Harris giving them a deserved lead and a welcome victory looked possible. Then a moment of madness from Captain Kavanagh saw him sent off for an X rated challenge and the game changed. Against a rejuvenated Blades the ten men from Wales could not hold out and a defeat was ineveitable once the Yorkshiremen had got their first goal. Another defeat in a very sorry sequence of events.................................

Cardiff's current form is nothing short of woeful, and we can only be thankful that fellow strugglers are also finding it difficult to pick up points. Neil Harris' first goal for the club beat Ian Bennett from 10 yards, however in the secod half substitute Andy Liddell levelled for the Blades on 69 minutes when he finished off on Jon Harley's cross.

Andy Gray snatched all three points on 80 minutes following a flick on from Chris Morgan after a good cross from Liddell.
