Former Bluebirds boss Frank Burrows is the new assistant manager at relegation rivals Nottingham Forest. He joins Gary Megson through the City Road door, renewing their partnership at West Bromwich Albion.

Former Cardiff City manager Frank Burrows has joined Gary Megson at Nottingham Forest, reforming the partnership that enjoyed success with West Bromwich Albion.

Following the sacking of Joe Kinnear, Megson has taken the helm at the City Ground after Mick Harford enjoyed a short and unsuccessful period in charge. Megson was quick to bring Burrows to Nottingham from West Brom and now hopes to move the two-time European Cup holders away from relegation threat in the Football League Championship.

Burrows enjoyed two spells as manager of the Bluebirds. In 1986 he took the helm in time for the new season and was in charge at Ninian Park for over three years. He returned to City in 1998 where he led the club out of the basement and into the Second Division. In total, he managed 273 Cardiff games, winning 100. He has also managed rivals Swansea, Portsmouth and had two games in charge of the Baggies after Megson’s departure.
