Boulding Eager to Keep City Up

Cardiff City's latest recruit Michael Boulding is hopeful that he can score the goals that will keep the Bluebirds in the Football League Championship this term. The 29-year-old has set himself a target of 4 goals as he moves to Ninian Park on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

Cardiff City's latest signing, Michael Boulding has set himself a target of four Cardiff City goals as he aims to keep the Bluebirds in the Football League Championship as the battle against relegation rumbles on. Lennie Lawrence brought a much needed striker to the club when he signed Boulding from Barnsley on a short-term contract until the end of the current season.

"It's going to be tough over the last eight matches, but I'm up for the challenge big time. I'll relish a big test of my goalscoring ability. But if I can score four or five goals during the run-in that will help the cause. I will do everything in my power to achieve that." said Boulding.

City's shocking finishing in front of goal was evident during the recent 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra. Alan Lee clearly lacked confidence as he missed chance after chance, with Cameron Jerome to inexperienced, Peter Thorne struggling with injuries and Andrew Campbell rotting away in the reserves.

"I've played most of my career at Championship level and I know what it takes to score a goal or two. I've looked at the run-in, and it won't be easy, but I'm confident I can help Cardiff avoid relegation. Cardiff have to stay in the Championship." added the 29-year-old.

Boulding is not a sensational signing but he has scored goals at this level with Grimsby Town. His pace will be an asset to the team as the Bluebirds face an unenviable tough run-in in the scrap to beat the drop to Football League One.
