I noticed a reply that came from the message board and so like any good news bearer I though I would plagiarise this and use for my own benefit.

The final score was exactly what the doctor ordered, especially considering the performances of late. However this does not go on about the match itself but concentrates on the performance of the key players. This is in reference to the question how did Toda and Etherington play?

Etherington was o.k. – If he was ten years older I would have said he was useless but his youth means that his failings are less important than his talents and he can be looked upon as having potential - I certainly think we should try and hang on to him.

Toda was, well, not all that good but quite energetic. He's not going to be our Roy Keane but he might make a poor man's Robbie Savage. He wasn't as good as Bunjevcevic but he was more obvious and more buzzy.

I thought it was a cracking match at the Hawthorns - helped in no small part by their noisy, funny fans who we only just shut up at the end.

Keane was great of course but it was really good to see Teddy have a mostly good game. The two do make a class pairing when Sheringham summons up a good game.

In the second half we were really, really good and only conceded what looked like a bloody great free kick, although it was down the other end so I can't be sure?

It was the best I've seen Spurs play for a while, we got to sing the Ledley King song 'cos he was outstanding, the substitutions seemed to work and the team showed character to win after twice falling behind. I certainly left the Hawthorns happy and hoarse. Shame we'll never play them again.

It was just what I needed after a miserable Friday and hopefully it'll do the team some good too. It even meant that despite sharing the back of the coach back to London with a gooner and a pair of Saints fans (who had just watched their side lose to Birmingham) I was able to just about hold my head up.


Not a great deal to get excited about, but some rare belief. Whilst we tend to look at the negatives a little too often its good to get a few of the positives. Although not a ground breaking result, it was a win none the less. There are bound to be people out there muttering things like...already relegated, twice from behind etc but at least the performance showed a little character, something that was missing from bad friday.
