Do Tottenham want Brazilian midfielder Savio?

Brazilian midfielder Savio Bortolini currently on loan from Real Madrid to French side Bordeaux could be heading for the premiership. Savio was more than happy to continue playing for Bordeaux, however the French club have stalled on signing the Brazilian star

Bordeaux would like to secure his services but financial problems mean they cannot reach an agreement with Real Madrid. A deadline was set for the 30th April, but the two clubs have still yet to reach an agreement. This now means he is now free to speak to any club he wishes and it is reported that two London clubs have expressed an interest in the player. These two teams are most likely to be Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.
Savio’s agent Joao Areias has confirmed this speculation and claimed England could well be his destination.
"There are two English Premiership clubs interested in the player, one is an important London club," Areias said.
"He (Savio) would be happy to play in the Premiership and ideally he would prefer to join a London club."

Both Fulham and Spurs are two clubs who are certainly lacking in this department and his talents and would be welcomed by the fans. Savio would be the ideal choice for Tottenham as he can play in two roles, either as a wide man or as a forward. Tottenham are certainly very short in these two areas and could jump at the chance of his signature. Glenn Hoddle is looking for a forward to replace Sheringham, but may also be looking for a wide midfielder to replace Matthew Etherington. It is looking increasingly likely that Etherington will demand a move in the summer and so Daniel Levy could persuade Hoddle to cash in on the player. Bringing in Savio would be an excellent decision for both for the fans and the pocket of the chairman. Savio’s contract is due to run out shortly and Spurs would almost certainly not have to pay much to secure his services. At 29 he is also not in the same “older bracket” that Sheringham and Poyet find themselves in
