EXCLUSIVE: Spurs to make announcement?
By Gary Beaumont

‘Tis the season to be Jolly. It appears we should be expecting some rather important news in regard to the management situation within the next two weeks.
Comments from David Pleat were (as usual) completely taken out of context by the media (I think they often put 2 and 2 together and get “Spurs want Woodward as manager”). Yet what these fools didn’t realise was that he gave a hint into a potentially much bigger story. Here are David’s comments;
"The club will be putting out a statement sometime before Christmas. I am just trying to explain how things work and how things can work. What we should be looking at is having a head coach in charge of the senior players, worried just about coaching and the game on a Saturday."
He is obviously going to be “very busy” over this period of time and the important question is this;
Why should he hand those duties over to Chris Hughton if there is no update on the situation?
So it appears Chrissy Hughton will be taking charge of the coaching duties in regard to the forthcoming match against Blackburn. This means David Pleat will be “elsewhere” and hopefully this will be good news for all Spurs fans. It doesn’t take a month to prepare a statement especially if there is nothing to say on the matter. It is my guess that they DO NOT have someone lined up to take over at Christmas BUT the club may have one candidate lined up to take charge in the summer.
Let’s just hope Santa Levy gives us what we want for Christmas (Or next summer at least).
