January's monthly manager and player prizes go to mid-Wales clubs after impressive recent performances in the Welsh Premier League.

January's monthly manager and player awards have been announced, with two Welsh Premier stalwarts scooping the prizes.

The managerial award went to Welshpool manager, Tomi Morgan, after he led his side to an impressive month which included a 5-2 win over TNS and a 6-1 away win at Newtown.

Welshpool's recent good form has seen them climb the table and, should it continue, are strong candidates for a Premier Cup place next season.

The players award went to Hugh Clarke of Caersws.

The central defender has formed a strong partnership with Colin Reynolds this season as Caersws currently lie in second spot in the table.

A veteran of 269 games for Caersws, plus further appearances for Newtown and Rhayader Town, Clarke's performances in January stood out in the minds of the Welsh Premier League clubs' managers, who voted for him to receive this year's first monthly award.

Congratulations to Tomi and Hugh.
