Albion are prepared to smash their transfer record with a £5million bid for PSV striker Mateja Kezman. The PSV man has been targeted by Megson to help solve his striking problems.

Albion may have to smash through their tight wage-structure in order to stand a realistic chance of snapping up the Serbian international.

The 25-year-old has been on top-form with the Dutch club after 95 goals in 4 seasons.

Other Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in Kezman, but none have yet made a firm offer. Manchester City, Fulham and Birmingham City were all linked with the player.

Meanwhile, Albion are believed to be lining up a bid for Middlesbrough's Johnathon Greening. The former Man United man has found himself on the sidelines for most of the season suffering with injuries.
