Harrogate Town vs. Leigh RMI preview

After a short break from the league with Wednesday night’s Lancashire FA Trophy 1-0 defeat at Nelson, RMI are back in Conference North action on Saturday afternoon when they travel over the Pennines for a War of the Roses battle with play-off chasers Harrogate Town.

The resilience shown in last weekend’s morale-boosting draw with high-flying Droylsden could prove to be a tonic for RMI boss Stuart Humphreys as he looks to get the victory that could take RMI away from the relegation zone, whilst having to contend with the injuries and suspensions that generally start to make their presence felt at this time of the season.

Whilst midweek saw RMI fall to a shock extra time defeat at Nelson, Harrogate also fell to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Hyde United in the league on Tuesday night, quick on the heels of Town’s disappointment in conceding a last minute equaliser to bottom side Scarborough last Saturday.

Directions to the game at Wetherby Road can be found here, whilst regular train services are available from both Leeds and York. The nearest station to the ground is Hornbeam Park, although taxis are readily available from the main station in Harrogate itself.

The obligatory social club is inside the ground, while refreshments are available near the social club, as well as behind the main stand.

With the journey less than ninety minutes away, not to mention the added spice of a Lancashire-Yorkshire match, there just isn’t an excuse to miss out on this one!
