Tamworth vs. Leigh RMI preview

After last weekend's thrilling 3-2 FA Trophy win at rivals Burscough, RMI return to league business on Saturday when they make the trip to former Blue Square Premier outfit Tamworth, 2-0 victors in their own Blue Square North 'derby' at Stalybridge in the Trophy last weekend.

After a 3-1 home defeat to Nuneaton Borough in their last league outing, RMI make the trip to the Lamb Ground in the bottom position in Blue Square North to face a Tamworth side that have flattered to deceive in their first season at this level.

The Lambs found themselves tipped as one of the pre-season favourites to win the league title this season, but find themselves just three points clear of the relegation zone in fifteenth place, after losing 3-2 at leaders Harrogate Town in their last league outing.

RMI's previous visit to Tamworth came in February 2005 when a late Mark Peers goal earned the Railwaymen their first three points away from home for fifteen months.

Leigh boss Steve Bleasdale is still without midfielder Scott Willis, with Lee Unsworth and Andy Heald both likely to retain their places in the heart of the RMI engine room after both players put in sterling performances at Burscough, with Heald scoring Leigh's second half winner.
