With the continued unavailability of the club’s new Leigh Sports Village stadium, Leigh Genesis’ upcoming UniBond Premier League ‘home’ fixture with North Ferriby United is to take place at Hurst Cross, Ashton-under-Lyne, 25 miles from Leigh's old Hilton Park home.

The problem of finding an alternative venue is something that Leigh are getting used to, with the delay in the new stadium being completed meaning that only one home game has actually taken place in Leigh, with the rest being at Chorley or Radcliffe.

Although the home fixture with Marine will still take place at Victory Park, Chorley on Tuesday 28th October (7:45pm kick off), Hurst Cross, the home of league rivals Ashton United, is the nearest available venue on Saturday 8th November for the North Ferriby fixture to take place.

Normal LGFC admission prices will apply for the fixture, with travel details soon to be announced.

I suppose we all knew it was coming, but disappointing we have to play so far away.

Get a grip, Dave!

No venue yet for the Trophy game but I think Chorley is available that day.
