Leigh Genesis vs. Mossley preview

Tuesday evening sees Leigh Genesis look to extend their unbeaten run to four games when they welcome Mossley to Crilly Park for an Evo-Stik League First Division North fixture.

A debut goal from the impressive Stuart Rudd saw Leigh claim a point from Saturday's 1-1 draw with Woodley Sports which, added a 1-1 draw with leaders Chester and a 3-2 win over Trafford in the two previous games, has seen Genesis put themselves right back in to the hunt for league safety with Alan Kershaw's side now just a point behind second bottom Ossett Albion.

Visitors Mossley are currently in mid-table but still looking to sneak their way in to play-off contention after a Kristian Dennis hat-trick saw Mossley claim a point from a 3-3 draw at home to Witton Albion last week, though their last away trip brought only a 3-2 defeat to Wakefield.

Having seen two previously scheduled trips to Seel Park postponed, Tuesday's Crilly Park encounter is the first meeting of the two sides this season and the first league fixture between the two clubs since a 1-1 draw at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium in October 2009.

Mossley's squad includes a pair of ex-Leigh players who may find themselves in the squad on Tuesday evening in striker Michael Oates and former fans favourite Steve Settle, who features in Tuesday's match programme (priced at £2 and available on the night).

Kick off is at 7.45pm with admission costing £7 for adults, £5 for over 65's and students and just £2 for under 18's. Live updates will be available at twitter.com/leighgenesisfc for those unable to attend.

Hoping the weather holds off for this and we get a decent crowd down. Be good to have plenty of backing for the lads again.

The breeze might help to dry the pitch out though it wouldn't make the game much of a spectacle I'm sure!

Don't think they'd be allowed to as the dimensions aren't supposed to be changed at any point.

It wasn't a problem that was anticipated. Do feel a bit of a pratt now though!
