Mossley game postponed

By Matt Lawton
February 8 2011

Tuesday evening’s Evo-Stik League First Division North fixture between Leigh Genesis and Mossley was unfortunately forced to be postponed at the last minute due to the match officials being unhappy with one corner of the Crilly Park pitch that suffered badly in the recent heavy rain.

A new fixture date will be confirmed as soon as available.

Leigh Genesis offer their sincerest apologies to all those sadly affected by this evening’s late postponement.

Absolutely and utterly embarrassing, can't say any more than that. Would think/hope the pitch situation is sorted sooner rather than later.

this league handbook u gave me matt is an interesting read regards to what happened tonight. failure to fulfill a fixture is a hefty fine max 2k thou could have to pay mossley expenses and get a 3 point penalty. just got wait now for leagues view of it.

Although I think that is referring more to being unable to raise a team etc, that's made me feel two thousand times better, thanks mate!!

Trafford game - touchline moved inside at referee's request
Chester game - touchline moved back to original position and causes a raft of confusion with the foul throws etc
Mossley game - touchline moved inside again at the referee's request but lines too faint/not applicable to other side/still didn't avoid waterlogged area, delete as appropriate

That will be sorted this week apparently, though I'm a little worried that it brings us perilously close to the minimum requirements with regards to the width of the pitch.

Didn't the LSV claim they had spent £25000 on the pitch last summer to stop this sort of thing happening? They don't appear to have done a good job

That was the total for the gross over-use of timber, the toilet blocks that they've had towed away and the ever so vital random fencing around the ground!
