Challenge Cup Switch

Accoriding to the Airdrie United official site the match between Airdrie and Ayr United scheduled for this weekend has been switched to Recreation Park in Alloa. It is believed that plans for just such a situation were drawn up between the club and stadium management weeks ago due to the change in weather conditions, which delayed the final installation of the new pitch.

The full statement

" As a result of the heavy rain last week, work on the new surface has been held up and unfortunately, it will not be ready in time for the our first game in the Alba Cup  V Ayr on the 24th July.

We had agreed contingency plans with Ayr and the SFL and as a result, the tie has now been moved to Recreation Park, Alloa with a 3 pm kick off. We apologise for the disruption but trust that fans will appreciate that it is completely outwith our control. The Stadium company have confirmed that all work will be completed prior to our first League game on 14th August."

So, the laying of an all-weather pitch has been delayed by heavy rain. It's impossible to be a satirist in modern Britain...

Do you think Glossy programmes will still be available?
