AS Airdrie 1-0 Glasgow North

Ally Gray's second half strike was enough to take all 3 points in a well contested match at Airdrie Stadium

North made the better start to this match with rowan having to dive low his right to stop a driven effort sneaking in at the back post. Airdrie got back into things as Lindsay saw his effort turned round the post for a corner. Brady ahd a chance shortly after but didn't get a good connection on the shot and was easily dealt with. on 25 minutes Gray fired a shot across the face of goal but had no support there for what would have been a tap in. Adams played a nice pass in to Shaw who found himself inside the area but again the shot lack power and a comfy save for the away keeper. just before half time Edgar blocked a ertain goal with a last ditch challenge as the striker was about to pull the trigger six yards out.

Second half and Airdrie tweaked the shape a little which offered us more possesion and we went from strength to strength.  Rowan had to be alert though and he turned an effort over the bar early on. Lindsay fired a ashot righ across the face of goal but again no takers. Airdrie took the lead midway through the half when Adams found Gray inside the box and Gray made no mistake. North came back at Airdrie and had lots of good possesion but lacked a final ball and Airdrie's experienced back line coped well with Rowan relatively untroubled.For Airdrie Adams had a further chance but the keeper was on hand to make the save.

A fantastic 3 points that we were made to work for and North will cause all teams problems with there direct play this season. back to National duties with a third round tie in the Scottish Cup away to Bridge if Earn on saturday
