The first match of this seasons league campaign sees us taking on Greenock Morton. Cappielow will be hoisting The Division Three Championship flag for last season last day promotion into division two.
Morton are going to be up for this one, with the fans hoping for a win to continue the celebrations from the day. However Sandy Stewart leads an almost fully fit squad to Greenock for the first of our double header games.
Mark McGeown
Alan McManus Sandy Stewart Neil McGowan
Willie Wilson David Dunn
Marvyn Wilson Stephen Docherty
Mark Roberts
Jerome Varielle Stevie McKeown
Sandy has shown over the past few games his preferred players and system so I expect the above layout to be almost identical to the one used in tomorrows game. However Sandy could well surprise us all, we have a depth of squad that allows some changes.
Gow in for Mark Roberts to give us some pace and directness the team seems sometimes to be lacking.
Martin Glancy for Willie Wislon, where he finished the game against Montrose.
Then everyone favourites Paul Ronald and Lee Gardner could fit into the positions occupied by Marvyn Wilson and Stephen Docherty.
For the defence we have Scott Wilson a replacement for either of the back three.
Both teams played challenge cup games last weekend Airdrie United winning 2-0 and Morton winning in the dying moments of injury time 3-2 over Arbroath. For both teams it was a single player who scored the goals Steven McKeown for Airdrie United and Peter Heatherston completed a heart trick for Morton.
John McCormack Greenock Mortons manager has a few late fitness checks to make in the morning but is playing his cards close to his chest.
For the first league match of the season this should be a cracker
