Sandy Stewart won Bells Scottish 2nd Division manager of the month this week after leading the team to three wins and a draw just in time to meet the other on form team in the league Alloa
Up until this last month most Airdrie fans would have said that our last game against Alloa was the best we had seen Airdrie play, on that occasion we won 4-1 away from home. Well at the moment I would say the team are playing far better and may give the Alloa fans a shock once again.
The big question on every fans mind is whether Sandy will let Allan McManus walk straight back into the squad or whether Scott (Scoobie) Wilson has done enough over the past two weeks to justify a good run. Admittedly it is going to be a hard decision. Since the change to a back four and the inclusion of Paul Lovering and Kevin Christie we have been solid. Neither McManus nor Wilson had put a foot wrong so who would you include in the back four?
Once again Sandy has a full squad to choose from, Physio Ian Constable has taken pressure off the management team by making sure the squad are all present and fit.
Possible Line up
Mark McGeown
Kevin Christie, Scott Wilson
(Alan McManus), Neil McGowan, Paul Lovering
Jerome Vareille, Stephen Docherty, David Dunn, Willie McLaren
Owen Coyle, Alan Gow
On the other hand Alloa Manager Tom Hendrie has to do without Stuart Callaghan who is serving a suspension and must give a very late fitness test to Andy Seaton who is struggling with a hamstring injury.
