A half decent display of defending, by a 10 man Airdrie team saw us going out of the CIS cup to Clyde once again going down finally 1-0 at the death. A silly mistake from Stephen McKeown resulting in him receiving a straight red card and adding to Sandy Stewarts troubles for our visit to Falkirk. We have our continuing injuries to Mclaren, Hardie and Gow to contend with but nothing knew. Having won 1, lost 1, and drawn 1 in the bells 2nd division so far our team have gained a lot of experience in what is after all a learning curve at the moment, until the first quarter is over we won't have a true idea of where we stand or what we have to do to progress. Owen Coyles shared management stint with John Hughes will add a little bit of bite to this match and i'm sure the best friends will share words after the game, but before it let the psychology begin.

John Hughes is expected to make very few changes to his team that beat Peterhead 6-1 in the CIS Cup during mid-week and there is good news for the Falkirk support. With the signing of French 18 year old Manuel Kante, team captain Kevin James extending his contract until Christmas and John Henry is expected to sign a similar deal. |
