St Johnstone Vs Airdrie Preview(23/10/04)

Last weeks fantastic win over Partick Thistle showed that there are still legs in Airdrie especially when they are returning to fitness. But should Sandy Stewart change the team that won last week?

Preview For Saturday, 23rd October 2004

St Johnstone

Airdrie

 John Connolly

Sandy Stewart

Do you change a winning team?

At least one position is in question, if Alan McManus is fit should he be put back in to the first team at the expense of either Kevin Christie or Neil McGowan.
Other than that it looks as though we will have the same team on the park  that performed so well last week.
Can Airdrie break our first division record and win two games back to back? With a performance like last weeks we will be in with a very good chance and if we think back to the first game of the season were we beat St Johnstone 1-0 we can go in to this game with nothing to fear.

 Opponents News

St Johnstone are in good shape and hope to put out the same team that beat Queen of the South 1-0 away from home.
However John Connolly will have a few niggles to sort out first,  Kevin Ritkiewicz is doubtful but will be given a late fitness check and although Kevin Fotheringham has returned to training, whether he will be match fit is still in doubt.
St Johnstone play three of their next four games at home and will be looking to take something from this.

Games: 7 Yellow Cards: 12 Red Cards: 0

We last had Mike Ritchie as the man in black during our 1-0 win over Alloa last season. There were five bookings during that game but only one came our way. Kevin Christie was that man.

 Prediction

I'm pushing the boat out this week and taking Airdrie to win 3-0
