There is no point in discussing league form coming up to a Scottish Cup match because as we know anything can happen when it comes to these games. however it has to be noted that Airdrie have lost two of our last three games, Ross County have had three comfortable wins in the same period.

First thing first, there is a pitch inspection scheduled for 8a.m tomorrow morning so for anybody heading up[ early this is the number for the Ross County match update. (01349 862 860)
Our last match in Dingwall saw us come away with a comfortable 2-1 win. However as I said these results don't stand for much when tomorrow comes.
Sandy Stewart has Stephen McKeown and Kevin Christie missing from the squad but that means we can continue with the same squad that has performed so well against the top two teams in the league during the festive season. Below I have had a look at our fixtures in the cup over the last two seasons and lets hope that for the first time Sandy can lead the team past the third round of the competition.
In season 2002/2003 we were unlucky to go out St Johnston on penalties and then we were beaten 2-0 by St Mirren in season 2003/2004, will it make any difference this season that we are not up against a team that has a "Saint" before it?
We are capable of going North and taking a victory and I'm sure the Airdrie team will feel confident as well.
A matter for discussion, if tomorrows game is cancelled the replay will be scheduled for a Tuesday or Wednesday night, Could the two clubs get together and play the fixture next Saturday and switch the league match to Mid-week. We don't expect a huge travelling support to come down from Dingwall and as I think the gate money for this fixture is shared would both clubs not benefit?

Alex Smith has reported an un-changed team from the team that beat St Johnstone last weekend 4-0 but of course like most managers today, is he reporting the full situation at the club?
Only tomorrow will tell! |

We have not seen Mr Fyfe in command of an Airdrie match since last season, he was in charge of three of our fixtures a 3-1 loss against East Fife, a 1-1 draw against Berwick and a 4-0 win over Sternhousemuir. It surprised me that there were no Airdrie booking in any of these three fixtures. Lets hope this this run of no bookings can continue. | |
