The remarkable revival of football in Airdrie continues today (Thursday August 1) with the announcement that Airdrie United have signed one of the biggest-ever shirt sponsorship deals in the Scottish Football League.
Pertemps, one of Britain's top recruitment agencies, has signed a one-year
shirt sponsorship deal for a substantial five-figure sum in time for Airdrie
United's opening Second Division home game of the season on Saturday against
Forfar Athletic.
This major financial boost on the eve of the season completes a remarkable
comeback for the football fortunes of Airdrie following the demise of
Airdrieonians FC
Birmingham-based Pertemps have offices in Glassgow and Edinburgh. Well known
for their sponsorship of horse racing, this is the company's first venture
into football.
Tim Jones, Pertemps Marketing Director, commented,"Our whole company ethos
is based on building communities and giving people a fresh start in life -
in the same way that Airdrie United gave football a new start in Airdrie. We

Airdrie United chairman Jim Ballantyne warmly welcomes Pertemps involvement.
