The remarkable revival of football in Airdrie continues today (Thursday August 1) with the announcement that Airdrie United have signed one of the biggest-ever shirt sponsorship deals in the Scottish Football League.

Pertemps, one of Britain's top recruitment agencies, has signed a one-year shirt sponsorship deal for a substantial five-figure sum in time for Airdrie United's opening Second Division home game of the season on Saturday against Forfar Athletic.

This major financial boost on the eve of the season completes a remarkable comeback for the football fortunes of Airdrie following the demise of Airdrieonians FC

Birmingham-based Pertemps have offices in Glassgow and Edinburgh. Well known for their sponsorship of horse racing, this is the company's first venture into football.

Tim Jones, Pertemps Marketing Director, commented,"Our whole company ethos is based on building communities and giving people a fresh start in life - in the same way that Airdrie United gave football a new start in Airdrie. We are delighted to be involved with them.

Airdrie United chairman Jim Ballantyne warmly welcomes Pertemps involvement.

"We are delighted that a national company of Pertemps stature recognises the importance of football to the town of Airdrie and is prepared to back that financially.

"This is great news of the eve of the season and further proof that our football club will prosper in Airdrie."
