The superstars got back to winning ways with a good away thanks to two goals from Alistair Gray!

The game was similar to the last time the teams met at “The Cage” where Blochairn dominated most of the possession with Airdrie catching them on the break with hopeful punts…er I mean calculated long passes over the top of a flat back three.

After around 15mins Edgwardo’s precise header put Ally clear and he left the ‘keeper with no chance with an ice cool finish!
10 minutes into the second half RG played a cracking pass to Ally who again beat the ‘keeper with nae probs.

Between the 2 goals Blochairn played some good football but without their top striker lacked a cutting edge. They were restricted to shots from long range , some of which went very close but Johnny “had them covered!”- aye right!

Gray was sent clear again when there was aloud sound of glass smashing. Most thought one of the spectators had dropped a bottle of their early morning cargo but it turned out to be Ally’s bottle crashing as he blew the chance of a hatrick with a fluffed shot(?) !!!

Blockhairn pulled one back with 15mins to go but Airdrie held on for a hard up fought win.

To sum up, it was a good team effort with some very good performances all over the pitch.
