Airdrie Utd travel to Hamilton 10/8/02 on league business riding the crest of a wave after successive wins. Stephen Docherty's dramatic headed goal against Forfar last Saturday was eclipsed by a stunning first half demolition of promotion favourites, Raith Rovers. Can the streak survive?
There have been no reports of any further additions so far today to Sandy's 14 man squad despite his admittance that there will be another four signings before the transfer deadline. Not that there will be any panics after the last two games. A decent goalie, solid defence who've conceded nothing, a productive and protective midfield, and buzzbomb forwards, suggest that Sandy has things moving in the right direction. The team already has a settled look to it and the only real question is who starts up front. Surely it has to be the pocket dynamoes, Glancy and McGuire. There's always a chance he'll go for Ronald's height to start with to combat Hamilton at set pieces. Personally I say go with the form guys and concentrate on us causing Hamilton the headaches. Hamilton made a great start last week considering their emotionally draining preseason. It will be interesting to see if last weeks win was a fluke or if Chris Hillcoat has that magic formula. Certainly they have experience in Sean (Basil) Sweeney, Mark Nelson (former Diamond from Glenmavis), Jim Sherry and Ally Graham in their team, so cannot be underestimated.
