Kinnear has told the NEP how he has been left fuming after the trip across the Atlantic in which they failed to record a win. He described the organisation as 'dreadful' and said that the main priority of this was not for the team to get fit- but that the club used to it improve public relations.

Kinnear's anger.

Joe Kinnear has been left angry and disappointed with the club's tour of the United States. He described the organisation of the trip as 'dreadful' and said that it was not about football, but was seen by the club as a public relations programme.

He said: "The trip has been organised as a public relations programme rather than a football one and I'm delighted it's come to an end.

"It has been a very disappointing trip. The facilities and the organisation have been dreadful .

"The entire trip has not been organised for football. We seem to have spent the whole thing on the back of a bus.

"The only reason we came out here was for (Forest sponsors) Capital One and it has been exhausting for the players.

"We have just been a travelling roadshow , the humidity got to the players and we have picked up unnecessary injuries."

Forest failed to record a single win on their trip and were playing in extreme heat against teams that were not only used to this, but also were halfway through their season. A grueling environment for football and in the end injuries were inevitable.
