Nine Players will be back for the Timbers in 2003

The Timbers exercized their options for a second year on the contracts for nine players. The Timbers are in very keen on signing some free agents.

December 12th the Timbers exercized their options on the following players:
F Fadi Afash
F/M Greg Howes
M Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar
D Scott Benedetti
M Erik Ozimek
D Brent Sancho
G Chris Smith
M Vadim Tolstolutsky
D Brian Winters

Fadi Afash shared the Goal Scoring Title in the A-League with our own McKinley Tennyson who looks like he will be playing in the MLS this season. Another key player Greg Howes will return along with Brent Sancho of Trinidad.
Erik Ozimek is back fro his training in Halifax Town. The Timbers are looking into signing players from last seasons teams that are free agent this season. High on their list is Gavin Wilkerson a defender and Matt Napoleon who is a keeper.
