Shaymen win again!

The Shaymen are on a Great Run as they beat Leigh RMI twice and Morecambe at home at the Shay! They are knocking at the door to being in the playoffs!

With a nice win at Leigh RMI and an injury time goal against Morecambe at the Shay. Halifax Town came into the Leigh match on a run. Here is a nice write up on todays match by my good freind Chris Hallwood.

Although Leigh played better than in the Boxing Day fixture Halifax only managed an average performance. Leigh having only a handful of weak efforts, Halifax on the other hand had decent opportunities that ran well into double figures including hitting the post and having the ball cleared off the line.

The breakthrough came 15 mins into the second half when fullback Asher was taken off to be replaced by Fitzpatrick who went to play upfront. Fitzpatrick had only been on the field for less than 2 minutes before he crossed from the left into a crowded goal area where Phil Clarkson managed to scramble the ball into the net.

Leigh continued to press they never looked like scoring and to be honest neither did Halifax. Although Quailey had another good game up front, Halifax need a goal scorer, otherwise we're going to continue relying on scoring the odd goal then defending it at all cost.

Overall an average performance with plenty of effort with no one player standing out.
