As expected Southend United have been put down as 200/1 to win the Coca Cola Championship this coming season The article in full on the official website reports the following.

Southend fans could strike it rich if the Blues could pull of an unlikely third consecutive promotion after the Coca-Cola Championship odds were announced today.

Following two consecutive promotions United have been made an outside bet of 200/1 to win the League and leap into the Premiership come May 2007.

However surprisingly Steve Tilson's side has been placed ahead of established Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers who are 250/1 to lift the trophy next season.

Rangers are joined on 250's with Southend's Essex rivals Colchester United and League One Play-Off winners Barnsley who secured their fate in English footballs second tier on Saturday.

Favourites to return to the Premiership at the first time of asking are Steve Bruce's BirminghamCity at 4/1 while fellow relegated sides West Brom - 6/1 and Sunderland - 8/1 aren't far behind.

Southampton and Norwich City have both been placed at 12/1 while Plymouth Argyle is the next side ahead of Southend at 100/1.
