Villas-Boas rues missed Chelsea chances

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas rued his side’s missed opportunities following their 3-1 defeat at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. Goals from Chris Smalling, Nani and Wayne Rooney were enough for United – but the visitors were guilty of some woeful finishing in front of goal.
Torres’ woeful late miss in front of the Stretford End will take the headlines, but Chelsea’s finishing was generally lacklustre on Sunday afternoon.
Villas-Boas’ men would rightly have felt aggrieved to have trailed by three goals at the break, but United’s superior finishing ultimately proved the difference.
The Chelsea manager said: "It was a strange game, very, very open and a lot of opportunities for both teams,
"We had some very good chances to even the score or even to score first.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Porto boss added: The scoreline went crazy in the first half, but we had good opportunities to do something in this game.
"Coming back from 3-0 down is always difficult and we had to take risks without exposing ourselves too much.
The second-half recovery was very good and we had a couple of chances to even the score. The scoreline is crazy."
