United winger 'very excited' ahead of Champions League debut

Manchester United winger Ashley Young is full of excitement ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash against Swiss side Basel. The summer aquisition is preparing to make his first appearance in the competition following his summer move from Aston Villa.

The 26-year-old is expected to start as United look to claim their first win of the competition.

Young did not feature in United's 1-1 draw in Benfica, in which Ryan Giggs hit the net.

The England international said: "I'm very excited by it. Coming to a club like Manchester United and playing in these big competitions is any boy's dream.

"I'm looking forward to being able to say I have played in the Champions League.

"I have been delighted with the performances I have put in so far but the matches are coming thick and fast and you have to be on your toes and ready every time you pull on the shirt."
