Peterborough United boss Barry Fry has agreed to let his 17-year-old winger, Jamie Day join United on trial. Day will be part of the United youth squad participating in the Milk Cup this weekend, and will be watched closely by the United scouts.

Manchester United have given a trial to Peterborough
United's bright young winger James Day. The 17-year-old will be part of the United youth squad taking part in the Milk Cup this weekend, taking place in Northern Ireland, and will be desperate to impress the scouts in attendance. Peterborough boss Barry Fry is delighted for Day, and believes the trial move will help the youngster to develop as a player. "I am pleased to announce that I have allowed Jamie Day to train with Manchester United," said Fry. "I am always talking to United who recognise that we have
a great reputation for developing youngsters. "Even if nothing comes from it, Jamie will have received a great boost to his confidence just by spending some time with them. He is a high-class player who I am certain will make a name for himself in the professional game. "United also asked if Jamie could take part in the Milk Cup, and I have accepted." Day will meet up with his former team mate Luke Steele, who left London Road last season, joining United for a fee of £500,000. |
