Reports in Portugal suggest Manchester United are about to sign Porto right-back Paulo Ferreira- who was recently named in the UEFA team of the year. Ferreira, 25, was incredibly impressive during Porto's UEFA Cup campaign and is rumored to be attracting interest from all around the globe.

Reports in Portugal suggest Manchester United are about to sign Porto right-back Paulo Ferreira- who was recently named in the UEFA team of the year.

Ferreira, 25, was incredibly impressive during Porto's UEFA Cup campaign, which they eventually won, and is rumored to be attracting interest from all around the globe. But the Portuguese press insist he is a target for Sir Alex Ferguson. 

"My thoughts are in helping Porto win every competition and if anything concrete comes up I will see. But I am very happy here." the Portuguese international recently said in an interview.

The right-back was named in the UEFA team of the year among footballing stars such as Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Gianluigi Buffon, Thierry Henry and Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
