Sir Bobby Charlton: "It's a Crisis"

United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has labelled the current situation at Old Trafford a crisis, and knows it will take a miracle for the Red Devils to lift a ninth Premiership title. However Charlton, a director, has defended Sir Alex Ferguson on criticism targeted at the Reds boss from the media.

club director Sir Bobby Charlton believed that the situation the club is
currently is can be labelled a crisis. However, the record breaking goal-scorer has revealed that despite Sir Alex Ferguson receiving criticism from the media and a minority of supporters, he gives the United boss his full backing and is confident he will help the club turn fortune around following a disappointing run of late which has seen us crash out of Europe and lose almost all hope of lifting a ninth Premiership crown. "It would appear there is a crisis. We've lost a couple of important games and it does hurt. We've done it to a few people in the past and now it's being done to us so it's our turn to suffer." said the ??-year-old. "You can't help it hurting if you're a fan, whether you're like me, or if you work at Manchester Airport or on a conveyor belt in a factory. It's your passion so if your team suffers really seriously - and we've had two big hits in the last week - it hurts. "I have complete faith in Sir Alex Ferguson. He's a great manager. He's never let us down and I don't see why that will be any different now. People have different approaches and he has his way of doing it. "He's been a manager for a long time and you don't do that by making bad decisions and alienating your players. You do it by doing the opposite and getting players to respect you. Alex doesn't like losing and he'll be telling the players to get back to winning." |
