Eric Djemba-Djemba is hoping that he can bounce back with a bang next season following a disappointing first year at Old Trafford. The £4.2million man has been kept out of contention for a first-team place due to niggling injuries and an unsuccessful African Nations Cup campaign with Cameroon.

United's Eric Djemba-Djemba is hoping to put a frustrating first season at Old Trafford behind him by bouncing back to earn a regular place in Sir Alex Ferguson's starting line-up for next season. Since joining us from Nantes for a fee of £4.2million, one which does look a little high, the Cameroon international has struggled with a series of niggling injuries and an unsuccessful African Cup of Nations campaign with his country hasn't helped in Djemba's mission to get regular first-team football at United. However, the midfielder wants to put a difficult season behind him and become an important player in the Manchester United squad for next season. "I view this as my trampoline year. I want to propel myself into my United career and I already feel as though I have learned a lot." said the 22-year-old. "Sure, I would have liked to have played more but hopefully that will only be good for next year and the years after that." |
