Giggs Relishes F.A Cup Final

Paul Scholes' first-half winner, set-up by Giggs, sent United to their first F.A Cup final since the venue of the showpiece was temporarily switched from Wembley to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. United's left-winger Giggs is delighted that he will play in another Cup final, with the fact the match is in his home-town only adding to the joy surrounding the big occasion.

"It will be brilliant for me because it's the place I was born," said a delighted Giggs.

"When the final got swapped from Wembley to the Millennium I was always hoping I'd make an FA Cup final and I'm sure I'll enjoy the day."

United haven't been in an F.A Cup final since the treble winning success of 1999, and the controversial decision to back out of the competition the following year to compete in the flop competition, the World Club Championship, prompted media speculation that the Red Devils no longer cared for the great competition.

However, the jubilation from the players following Saturday's semi-final victory over Arsenal showed just how much the trophy means to the players, and Giggs is clearly ecstatic that United have the chance of lifting an eleventh F.A Cup.

"It's probably been too long since we made to the final. In the 90s we were so successful in the FA Cup but it's been five years now, so we've waited long enough." added Giggs.

"It's great for the fans to have a day out now that they can enjoy - they've had a day out in Birmingham and I'm sure it'll be another great day out at the Millennium."
